To know God or to know Him better each day this year and adopt His ways.
I will:
Begin each day with God. The psalmist says, His Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105. I will spend time reading His Word beginning with 15 minutes a day. It doesn’t have to be all at one time - 5 minutes at a time will give new meaning to my life and as my interest and desire grow I can increase the time
Thank God for at least 2 things. We like to be thanked when we do something for others. God wants to know that we recognize his presence and contribution in our lives. Come into His presence with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Psalm 100:4..
Seek God and His will for me at the beginning of each day. Early will I seek You. Psalm 63:1.
Be a blessing to others. Give at least one compliment a day to each one in my family and greet others with a smile. Even on the phone, even if they can’t see you, they can hear it in your voice.
If I must offer criticism, I must offer a compliment first. I must say something good before and after the criticism. If I can’t say something good I’ll say nothing until I have something good to say. And I’ll offer to help the person come up with a solution. All of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous, not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing . . . 1 Peter 3:8,9.
