Faith Against Anxiety

Sometimes when I pray I find myself telling and outlining to God all the details of the circumstances or condition that I would like to see changed. I can hardly call this praying in faith, it’s more like praying in unbelief. That prayer leaves me depressed. Instead, when I focus on God’s power, His goodness, His love, His promise and His ability to meet all my needs, I’m uplifted, and with anticipation and thanksgiving I can go about my day, rejoicing.
God’s word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6, 7. (NIV)
My life can reflect that peace which passes all understanding.
