Revelation 1:7 Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
The apostle, John, writing to the seven churches in Asia, spoke of Jesus coming again. He had been an eye-witness of the ascension of Jesus (Acts 1:9) and heard Him promise to come again (John 14:1-3).
John must have been so excited to see Jesus again, even though only in vision. You know how it is when you have a dream of someone you haven't seen for some time, it seems so real! Not only was he seeing Jesus, he was seeing heaven. How exciting it must have been for him to spend time talking with Jesus again. And to hear Jesus promise, "Surely I'm coming quickly." No wonder his response, "Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" Revelation 22:20.
It must have been reassuring for John to hear Jesus promise again, 'I'm coming back. Even though it's been a while since I left, you can be sure I'm coming. You'll see me again, just as you saw me go.'
It surely is reassuring to us!
And we'll see Him come as they saw Him go!
